Canadian model of healthcare ails

Right. I guess that’s why Canadians live longer and have a lower infant
mortality rate than the U.S. Woody Wilson, a Republican from Texas and
the creator of Rex Morgan, MD said, “‘Well, in Canada, health care is
about waiting; in America, it’s about money.’ I want the waiting.”

Self-employed people can buy health insurance. Most of the major carriers such
as Blue Cross and Kaiser off reasonable rates for the self-employed.

If someone is uncovered and low income, they qualify for Medicaid (MediCal here
in CA) which covers much more than Medicare which is for older adults.
Medicaid patients can use any doctor or facility which accepts medicaid
patients.

Additionally, there are preventive health care services offered by the county
departments of health and community clinics with a sliding fee scale.

Medicaid is the model for universal care; anything less is an insult to the
dignity of the human race. Since we are currently paying for it, isn’t it
too bad that we don’t have it.

No, you are wrong. The Kaiser HMO is the model for health care. My Swedish
friend who has been under both says that Kaiser works like universal health
care should, but doesn’t.
