This causes the liver to use serum cholesterol to manufacture more bile ( an over simplified explanation). Anyway, cholesterol ( the bad kind) does go down. As an added attraction, this fiber drink swells a bit in your stomach giving you a slightly full feeling– you tend to eat less, making it easier to lose weight.

My wife has taken several Benecol produxts, spread, bars, dressing and has had very good success. She takes Lipitor also. Her total choleterol and trglycerides has gone down further, and her HDL has risen.
